I became a therapist for moms because when I transitioned into motherhood. It was very clear to me that it was impossible to go it alone.
Being a mom is hard! So, I’ve spent my career finding ways to support other moms in a way that is validating, compassionate, and creative.
Some of the ways I support moms is through individual therapy, couple therapy, dyad (with your baby!), and group support. I also recently co-authored a book, called When Good Moms Feel Bad, that aims to help moms untangle all the complicated feelings they experience during all stages of motherhood.
As the founder of Second Street Collective, I set out to create a space for therapists to be in community with one another. Being in private practice can be a lonely endeavor, and, just like our clients (just like in parenthood!), we need one another to share ideas, eat lunch together, and learn from each other. Since its establishment in 2024, I’m proud to say that coming to work everyday is an absolute joy. Yes, we do heavy work, helping folks process their life challenges. But we also have a lot of fun together.
In my spare time, my greatest pleasure is spending time with my family and friends, and my dog and my cat. I love listening to novels, and reading non-fiction, and I love to cook, especially with stuff I’ve grown in my garden. If there are fresh flowers in our office, it’s very likely I just picked them. I like to share my joy.
